Wright was inspired to paint Mission San Javier for the fifth time, once again drawing from Picasso's Blue Period. As he worked on this piece, he felt a deep connection to the ancestors of Loreto, sensing their presence and encouragement as he approached the conclusion of his body of work, "Honoring Loreto." This time, he infused the painting with rich blues and emotive brushstrokes that echoed both his artistic journey and the historical significance of the mission. Through this homage, Wright not only celebrated the mission's beauty but also honored the legacy of those who came before him, creating a profound connection between past and present in his final expression.
